Brief: When HBO asked Sky to host the season 5 world premiere, sickness the biggest show in the world, we were briefed by Sky to design the event. Working in collaboration with the events team at Sky we created and designed the world premiere in the moat of the Tower of London. The aim was to gain as much national and international PR as possible.
Challenge: The lead time on the project was 6 weeks. We designed the event in a couple of days for sign of from the Sky CEO and immediately started working with Entourage Live to plan the event. This involved designing and building 2 temporary bespoke venues, a 1000 seater cinema and party venue. We then went to work on animating the dragons that would be projected on the wall in 3 weeks. Sky, Giggle, Entourage Live and Anna Valley worked seamlessly together to produce the event.
Creative: From the moment the almost 40 cast members hit the red carpet the event had to be unique and electric. From the pyres burning alongside moat to the projections of dragons setting alight the show logo to playing and fighting over the food. Thronecast was broadcast from a pop up studio at the end of the carpet with a press area just before the entrance to the cinema. The bespoke cinema decked out like a battle tent followed by a Dothraki style party behind the screen.
The event was featured in all national press and has since won multiple awards including 2 bronzes, a silver and a gold at the Evcom live awards.
