Project: Brand Film
Brief: MD Events approached us to produce a witty and entertaining animation communicating the MD Events brand personality in a memorable and engaging way. The film would be used as an opening to a presentation about MD Events, sale online and via social media. The client wanted a warm and light-hearted intro that captured their ethos and would break the ice prior to fairly dry, corporate presentation. The objective was to make the company memorable and inspire the target audience to work with MD Events.
Challenge: Injecting wit and warmth into the film whilst remaining sympathetic to the core business that would be relevant to the target industry. We needed to be mindful of an international audience and be careful to avoid offence. Part of this work was to help define the personality of the brand. Our goal was a giggle rather than belly laughs – an engaging use of wit that translates across cultures.
Creative: The first task was to interrogate the company website for the details about the team and their services. Using this information, we wrote a script for a minute-long film – the film had to work with and without audio so text on-screen was also a consideration in the development stages. Our designer Iina came up with the motif of “lightbulb people” to signify the innovative and hard-working people who deliver MD Events’ services. A series of light touches throughout the animation, a very un-corporate style and sound effects resulted in a warm and entertaining film that now opens every MD Events presentation.
